My Position: Abortion

The act of having an abortion is when a person or couple choose to euthanize a baby or fetus before the end of the pregnancy term. Abortions are one of today's most controversial subjects, this subject divides peoples of all genders, ethnicity, religious perspectives, and indeed the nation. There are people who believe that it is there right to have an abortion, and there are others who believe it is there religious duty to stop both people who want to have an abortion and those who have abortions. People believe many different things about abortions and t hey believe these things on a rather large gradient. While it may mean little to some individuals, it is one of the fundamental issues in today's society.
My position on abortion is a two fold belief, one religious and the other as part of my perspective on patriotism. Some people believe that the euthanization of children is okay as long as it is before 20 weeks, others believe that life begins at birth, and yet another group of people believe that life begins at conception. Personally I don't believe that any of these are really that important toward the issue of abortions, although I believe that a child's life does begin at conception. The first part of my belief is religious, I believe that abortions are wrong, and that they are indeed killing children, however I would also consider myself as pro-choice.
The bible teaches about healing and through that I believe that all lives are valuable, including those of unborn children. However as much as my religion is a part of me, my nationality also takes a major place in who I am. As an American, I believe in the freedom of choice. People have the right to choose whether or not they want an abortion or not; and while i may be against it as a christian, I support their right to make that choice. In addition, I also believe that the freedom of choice is biblical, the right and privilege to choose was a gift that was given to us by God. We have the right to choose, but we have to deal with the consequences of what we choose.
